A funny thing happened...

Have a problem finding shops that sell specific materials? Ask here. Are you looking for microscope parts? Do you have anything to offer for sale? Note: this is not a section for external companies to advertise their products.

A funny thing happened...

#1 Post by lorez » Mon Jun 01, 2015 10:46 pm

Hello all,

I saw an inverted microscope on ebay and ordered it. It arrived and was in very promising condition and after a thorough cleaning and lubrication I am a happy camper. Then I saw another inverted microscope with a better selection of lenses and I thought, "why not ?" So, I ordered it too. The box arrived today and it was in excellent condition (the box) and when I unpacked a superb packing job I discovered that they had sent the wrong microscope. After a couple of phone calls the matter was sorted and now I am the proud owner of an extra inverted microscope. It is an AO and I do not yet know any details, but if anyone is interested in an inverted scope let me know.

More likely this one if it has been sold.

It is useful, in order to get a idea of what things are actually selling for as opposed to what sellers are asking, to go to advanced search (to the right of the search button) and then tick on sold listings.
Sold listing prices appear in green.

Will go try that, thanks. You might know the answer to this, if I were to take an AO-10 and
add the phase equipment, would it be right to call it a Phasestar?

Only if you want people to scratch their heads.

How about American Optical 110 with Phase or American Optical One-Ten with Phase

Of course. That's what AO called it.
