Sold: Olympus BH2-RFL Reflected Light Fluorescence Attachment

Have a problem finding shops that sell specific materials? Ask here. Are you looking for microscope parts? Do you have anything to offer for sale? Note: this is not a section for external companies to advertise their products.

Sold: Olympus BH2-RFL Reflected Light Fluorescence Attachment

#1 Post by cmake » Fri Sep 25, 2020 9:35 am

Got this bundled with my most recent purchase but having no interest in fluorescence this needs to go.
The unit powers on and the bulb lights up. The life time counter is over 300 hours and i'm unsure how accurate that is for the current bulb, so i have not done any further testing.
Collector lens is cracked (see pictures) but seems easily replaceable. Also the mirror selector knob is stuck, so the existence and condition of the mirror(s) are unknown for now.

The power supply unit weighs about 20 kilos, which might make shipping troublesome and expensive but i'm willing to give it a try.

Trade would be ideal for some of the following items:
- Neo Dplan or Neo Splan 5x
- Neo Dplan or Neo Splan 100x
- M26 threaded nosepiece for BH2-BHS
- BH2-UDF darkfield cube for BH2-UMA

No takers?
Would be a shame to just throw the psu away and repurpose the rest to use halogens or leds.

Had this looked at while servicing other scopes. The mirror knob moves now and the prism is blue.
The guy also took a look at the bulb and said that it looks nice and clean, so maybe i can do some further testing without much worry. He also said that the cracked lens shouldn't affect image quality that much, but that can of course be validated once i can find some suitable slides to look at.
