microscope binoculars

#1 Post by wstenberg » Thu Mar 04, 2021 2:38 am

I don't know what microscope these fit. They appear to be new. Opened just for these photos. A good deal if you know what they are and need a few.
$50 for all 5 plus postage from Oregon USA.

These look like they might be Olympus BH compatible? You might measure the dovetail and see if it's around 42mm? Fantastic deal for someone.

39mm dovetail. There are no markings on these. Adjustable interocular distance. Each side focuses independently.

Is there a telan lens in the bottom of the head?

I can't tell if it's a telan lens or just the surface of a prism...

FWIW, Swift finite scopes used a 39mm dovetail in their microscope heads.

OK, does anyone have a Swift microscope suitable to test one?
$5 plus postage.
But you have to report back to me, so I can properly label the other 4 for sale.
Thanks!

Might also fit LW Scientific and a variety of other relatively cheap imports? I recall turning down the dovetail (can't remember to what) on an Olympus BH head to replace the missing one on an LW Scientific scope. Didn't need much to reduce it from 42mm to 39??mm. It ended up working fine; maybe with the slightest mismatch of where eyepieces picked up the image. Sorry to say, already have too many spare binocular heads - not enough monocular or trinocular.
