WTB / WTT AO parts (Series 10, 150) (boneyard list included)

#1 Post by dtsh » Thu Jul 01, 2021 5:37 pm

Edit: To keep people from having to hunt around, I'm updating this first post with any changes.

I am looking for a couple of parts, none of these are must haves, but they would all allow me to repair or improve a scope. I'm open to buying, trading, or a combination thereof.
What I want...
... a Cat 262 3/4 objective for an AO Cycloptic
... a 1036A illuminator for a series 10, the one with the centerable field lens. I just need the housing and guts, not the lamp portion. Broken/missing mirror OK.

I've considered making an adapter plate for the 150 to allow mounting a Series 10 head, but if I can be lazy...

What I have to trade...
... an AO 20 stand in very nice shape
... an AO 10 Series bino head in good shape
... one Leitz Weltzar Periplan GF 10x eyepiece
... a pair of 10x B+L (I believe 31-05-62) eyepieces
... a pair of Olympus 10x Bi eyepieces
... a pair of noname WF10x-18mm eyepieces
... a pair of 10x Cat 138 eyepieces
... one lone 10x eyepiece Cat 176
... one lone 15x eyepiece Cat 184
... field iris assembly for an Olympus BH
... 1201 0.9NA condenser (Microsstar IV)
... 1.25NA abbe condenser for AO 10/20
... 10x 34mm infinity objective (Cat 1019) *
... 45x 34mm infinity objective (old barrel) (Cat 1116)
... 45x 34mm infinity objective (new barrel) (Cat 1116)
... focus knobs for a 150
... base plate for a 150
... illuminator for a 150 (complete, but didn't light up, undiagnosed. If interested I can examine it)
... AO Cycloptic "M" Magni-changer
... AO Cycloptic 1x objective

About the only special item I have is a 2.5x 34mm infinity objective (Cat 1028), which may entice some of you collectors/hoarders.

I also have misc spare parts for 10 and 410 not worth individual mention, looking for some not-so-special parts, ask.

I'm fixing up a 410, you wouldn't have the blue filter/holder by any chance?
Thanks, Al.

I do, do you happen to need just the filter and it's housing or the whole assembly?

Just the filter and plastic housing. The other bits are all there. Can you give me an idea what you would like for this and dropping it in the post to V0R 1X7 Canada? PM me if you prefer.
Cheers, Al.

I have since acquired the bino head for a One-Fifty.

Added to the boneyard are focus knobs, lefty stage, base plate, a pair of 10x Cat 138 eyepieces, and an undiagnosed illuminator from what's left of the One-Fifty.

As an aside, near as I can tell the stand is cast aluminum. I hacked off a thick section of one of the feet, weighted it (23.7389g) and checked it's volume (9.25 cm3...approximately) which gives a g/cm3 of 2.56 which is a very close match to aluminum. I tested it against acid too, but no reaction suggests to me it's not magnesium. It will likely get melted down as tractor parts or shelving brackets later this year.

I have removed the bino head from the first post and added a 40x Cat 1309 objective. It seems the only one I had left is missing a lens pack!

40x 1309 objective acquired.

My current wish list (edited first post, but repeated here)
... a Cat 262 3/4 objective for an AO Cycloptic
... a 1036A illuminator for a series 10, the one with the centerable field lens. I just need the housing and guts, not the lamp portion. Broken/missing mirror OK.

Added to the parts/boneyard trade list (edited first post)
AO Cycloptic "M" Magni-changer
AO Cycloptic 1x objective
Leitz Periplan GF 10x eyepiece (in very good condition)
