For sale: Carl Zeiss Jena apochromat 60x w/ correction collar + others

Have a problem finding shops that sell specific materials? Ask here. Are you looking for microscope parts? Do you have anything to offer for sale? Note: this is not a section for external companies to advertise their products.

For sale: Carl Zeiss Jena apochromat 60x w/ correction collar + others

#1 Post by DevonianSea » Wed Sep 08, 2021 10:58 am

I'm wishing to sell some Zeiss and Zeiss Jena parts I'm not using to make room and funds for new purchases, and I've decided to post it here before I'm dumping it in the bottomless pit called ebay.

Carl Zeiss Jena apochromat 60x/0.95 N.A. 160 mm tube length (dry?) objective with a coverslip correction collar (see photos below). The optics are in excellent condition and free of any delamination or fungal growth. I cannot reliably estimate the true value of this one, so please propose a price.

I also have the following Zeiss optics I'm looking to sell:
  • Carl Zeiss Neofluar 100x/1.30 N.A. oil 160 mm (€65)
  • Carl Zeiss Neofluar 40x/0.75 N.A. 160 mm (€55)
  • Carl Zeiss Achromat 40x/0.65 160 mm (€35)
  • Carl Zeiss Planachromat 2.5x/0.08 (€30)
  • 1 Carl Zeiss C5x ocular (€15)
  • 1 Carl Zeiss C10x ocular (€20)
  • 1 Carl Zeuss C12.5x ocular (€25)
  • 1 Zeiss Winkel 9x ocular (€25)
  • A pair of Carl Zeiss kpl8x oculars, one with a micrometer plate (both with minor circular scratches on the eye lens) (€45)

I also have an objective that is a complete mystery to me that someone might be interested in:
Carl Zeiss Jena DD 4.3mm Tubus 160mm ohne Deckglas [without cover slip]. (€??)

All oculars I'm offering may be purchased as a set for €95.

The listed prices are not set, and I'm open to offers and happy to negotiate, though I think most prices are reasonable.

Please note that I'll be shipping from the Netherlands and prices do not include packaging, and shipping and handling costs.

Photos will be posted when requested.

Hello, the 60/0.95 is indeed a dry objective, similar to infamous 40/0.95 but much harder to find wspecially in good condition :)
Gear list:

Gamma Hungary 3D-condenser

Hi and thanks! I suspected it was rather uncommon, given I couldn't find any documentation on this objective (though the publicly available documentation is quite patchy and hard to find, so that doesn't necessarily mean anything). When you say "infamous", is it because they're hard to find, or are there different reasons? :)

It's both hard to find and gives really good picture, especially for nearly 100 years old lens (I think it was developed in 1920's)

Then may I suggest that ‘legendary’ would be a more appropriate word

I think "legendary" is more fitting for 60/1,4 Apo, which I've seen being called "godlike" :D

yes I wanted to ask about the choice of wording here, its one of my favorite lenses and I can easily overlook the absence of planar field correction.

Perhaps so … but ‘infamous’ is a derogatory term, where I come from

Perhaps used here in the same vein as The Notorious B.I.G.
