What makes it an Axiomat versus Axioplan or any of the other pyramid series?

Beside the square block format and the 100 lbs weight difference?
Apparently Axiomats were the first infinity series from Zeiss.
As i've got to know from the german microscopy forum, the objectives were not fully infinity corrected and depend on a correction lens above the turret to give full achromatic / apochromatic correction.
Newer Axio objectives can / were ment to be used by addition of a special correction lens.

Whoa are we talking about a Zeiss semi-objective series like the Balplan had?

Maybe just a bit of terminology mixup.? The reference to a lens above the turret might just be to the telan lens?
I know you know Bram ; but just to clarify for those reading this that don't : The B&L Flat Field system had two lenses above the turret. A negative doublet that was a common rear element to all of the objectives( semi) used in the system as well as a convergent and field flattening telan lens. B & L never used the term "infinity corrected" for the system but functionally it was.

Is there a table of what Zeiss objectives go with which Axioplan? For example, I have a couple Axioplan 2's. They don't have heads though. So I'd like to find the right trinocular and objectives, especially if their objectives have corrections in them. I thought, maybe hoped, the same Axiomat objectives would interchangeable with the other Axio series.

Axiomat objectives are larger for sure. 28mm I think. I would be concerned about correction compatability between them and later Axioplan objectives.

Axiomat are M27, same as the newer Axio series. The first Axio series were only RMS i'd guess.
Rumor has it the final compensation correction on Axios is done by the tube lens.
So Axiomat probably won't fit at all to Axio.

Will the Zeiss M27 44 ## ## objectives work with the Axiomat tube lens? I don't know what corrections are in the optical path of the Axiovert versus the Axiomat.
And what about the 42###-9### ones?
It looks like Axiomats are 46 ## ## model numbers.
Thanks,
Ted

I'd be very sceptical of buying something like this from a new member with three comments, all trying to sell hard-to-find items.
Seems very unlikely that someone would have a spare Zeiss Axiomat 50x PlanApo, a 30mm phase telescope, and a Russian MBC-10 camera attachment...

It's the pay for pictures plan. There is a Diastar 420 D.I.C. scope on ebay. It has been there for a long time and the seller is a very reputable ebay microscope and parts merchant. Hasn't sold lokely due to the price.
Well, I found the same microscope with exactly the same pictures, description, copy, being sold on two different Craigslist sites, one in England and one in the U.S.: Oregon I think it was. Those weren't stock photos. They were the ebay sellers photos.
