I've been looking (possibly missed 1) 20x 0.5 para.
There is listed apo 20x .65 which would be a good alternative.
Out there somewhere is an original Watson objective in nice enough condition that needs rehoming.
It will be used so needs to be optically good.
I'm confident someone here would know what colour band I am looking for also if they would be kind enough to contribute.
It's a long story but I'm now the custodian of likely Watson's prototyping platform microsystem 70,no serial number allocated and a backstory that fits.
In the time it took to exchange gifts the 20x para it had when I first met it has gone elsewhere.
Thanks in advance for any clues.
Fitted is a .6 low na condenser but I have an abbe and No3 universal.

There was a mangled one on eBay ...I would have said that the colour was a kind of Lilac:

Thanks for the image.
That's the colour I am looking for.
No black band and a little less abuse would be good.
I have a 40x Para that has a delaminated element but it is unusual, looking at that ebay example it's not hard to picture the inside being crusty and a best before last 2 owners sticker.

Thanks Chas,
With the colour band clue I now have this. It's ok if you like this sort of thing.
Hand held Moto G6 and bounced around untill it shrunk to fit here.
Dumped as junk.
Broken iris. Fixed now.
