withdrawn from selling

#1 Post by Cristian11 » Sat Aug 13, 2022 5:47 pm

I have to sell this awesome piece of equipment because I cannot make it adequate for video recordings. It is okish for photos, but not for videos. At least not with my current setup. I've tried a lot of combinations, there are still a few more to try but I'm not investing in it anymore. It has to go.

Carl Zeiss GF West Germany/4752078. https://imgur.com/a/JAtGAgU

Objectives are marked as follows;

Neofluar 63/1,25 Oil - 160

Neofluar 40/0,75 - 160/0,17

Plan 16/0,35 - 160/0,17

Plan 6,3/0,16 - 160

Plan 2,5/0,08 - 160

Condenser 0,9 flip top

Oculars:

One pair 8x KPL and one piece 10x KPL

The filter holders come with 2x filters that I think are designed for contrast improvement.

Light

Nichia LED 5000k powered by a Mean Well LCM-60 driver. Might need a dimmer because light is very strong. I also have the original AC power source if needed. But it's damn heavy.

The microscope has a few small flaws that does not affect its functionality. I've also circled them in photos;
The small screw that blocks the head rotation, is stuck/broken in place. Therefore the head moves freely if pushed. It can be taken out but it does not tight properly back in.

The screws that lock the eyepiece into the head are missing. I did not bother trying other screws because it was fine for me. I was just careful when moving the microscope around so the eyepiece would not fall. A improvised rubber washer or wide elastic band can be used to tighten it in place if no screws are found.

The stage clip that holds the slide, moves freely. The cog that should tighten the arm is somehow spring loaded. I made it work once before, but I do not know if it's user error from my side or it is faulty. So I've been using a small magnet behind the clip to hold it in place when putting a slider.

Besides these small faults, there is No delamination, optics are perfect, no dust inside,no exterior rust, condensers work flawlessly, mechanics are sliding perfectly, course focus is impeccable. I would rate the scope at 9 out of 10.

Shipping from Europe. Price 300Euros. Buyer pays shipment.

Looks like a very nice scope at a fair price as well, especially for someone not too distant.

Hi Christian,
FYI: The modell is a Zeiss Standard WL.
Thanks for letting me know. These old scopes are quite confusing when it comes to model hehe.

Cheers

Thank you.

It is simply amazing in build quality. It looks like something build for the space industry hehe.
I know it is a fair price. This is how much I paid for it as well and the LED conversion was extra 70 Euros in parts.
