WTD Leica planapo 1x objective for MZ8 stereo microscope

Hello,

I'm looking for a Leica planapo 1x objective for my Leica MZ8 binocular microscope (50 mm diameter) in very good condition.

Eventually others than Leica (Nikon,... aso) could do with a not too different screw diameter....

Leica did make a 50mm planapo at one ooint but I have only ever seen one for sale. The typical advice I suspect would be to adapt on a 65mm planapo and live with the 1.25x magnification factor.

You are right scarodactyl : these planapo 1x objectives for stereo microscopes, with a 50 mm screw, are scarce that's why I'm also looking for other ones made by other companies (using therefore an adapter).....

I can guarantee you the 65mm leica ones give good results. I have been unimpressed with the results from handholding a Nikon planapo on an mz6 but I will admit I didn't test it thoroughly.

I'll check if any of these 65 mm Leica planapo objectives (designed for which serie?) are offered, but I think they should be very expensive (50 mm is already around 800 -1000 euros !).....

And if ever I would go to higher models than MZ8, i'll already have the right objective :-)

They are for the higher end MZ scopes, starting with the Wild M10 and going on to the MZ Apo, MZ12, MZ125, mz16 and now the m125, m165 and m205. They do tend to be expensove but better deals occasionally crop up.

I have a Wild 1x planapo with 50mm thread but I ain't selling it as I use it on my M3Z :-) As Scaro said, a Wild or Leica planapo for 60mm or 65mm thread is a good option. I have a 2x Leica planapo that is very nice to use on a Wild stereo with the correct adapter.
