#1 Post by Milou » Mon Nov 07, 2022 7:51 pm

Hello,

If anybody has such an unused drawing device for a Wild /Leica M serie, I would be very interested......

Anybody knows if ever adaptable devices could fit such M Wild / Leica stereo microscopes?

I have read that Motic has a competent Drawing Device. I believe model 1508.3 would be the right one, p/n 1101005900092, originally for the Motic K500/K700.

Some even say it's a slight improvement. Genuine wild ones do come up from time to time but it's irregular.

thank you for this Motic reference.
But unfortunately Motic doesn't sell it any more according to their European office.....

So only second hand could be found also for this model :-)
One is offered by Martin Microscope Company in US, but a very high shipping cost is required (140 US dollars ! to Europe !)

You might ask for a quote from tequipment.net (see REQUEST QUOTE under the price, then VIEW QUOTE, ....)

thank you very much John for the link!

I've got a quote, but finally to expensive to send from US and also French VAT ( a 170euros additional cost to seller price!!!!)......

Therefore I'll try to wait for one offered in Europe :-)

Yes you are right, this model with Wild ref 308 700 is well adapted for a M8, as stated in its catalogue!
You are more attentive then me :-)

Hi - I am also looking for a drawing tube compatible with Wild M8 or Leica MZ series scopes; I have found one labelled M4 Zeichentubus which appears to have the light paths close together (unlike the Wild M5 version which has them much further apart), but without purchasing it first I can't test whether it will actually fit my scopes...does anyone know about compatibility between Wild M4 accessories with Wild M8 and later Leica M and MZ models?

I have a very good camera setup on a Leica MZ16, but still think that for illustrating points while discussing specimens there's nothing to beat a quick sketch with a drawing tube!

Hello,
I think if it fit M4 model it is also compatible with M8 as in fact in the Wild M serie only 2 different body sizes exist:
-M5
- all others ones from M3 to M8 (M10 !)

I still don't find one in Europe (or too expensive!) and I use a camera on a phototube to make a sketch on the computer screen (covered with a plastic plate!)

Hi
I have Wild M5 stereo microscope. I search this topic years ago. I saw that motic drawing tube is compatible with Wild M5. I didint find motic drawin tube in my country. later I bought original drawing tube of wild m5.

Wild may be compatible with Leica 8. It is only my opinion. need to research. Experienced friends can write.

cheers

Good move !

Note: an Apple iPad + Pencil would make a great upgrade
