WTB: Leitz bino (or trino) head for SM-POL (red dot bayonet)

Have a problem finding shops that sell specific materials? Ask here. Are you looking for microscope parts? Do you have anything to offer for sale? Note: this is not a section for external companies to advertise their products.

WTB: Leitz bino (or trino) head for SM-POL (red dot bayonet)

#1 Post by Galf » Sat Apr 06, 2024 2:44 pm

After >35 yrs looking again at petrographic slides with my old but almost complete black-enameled Leitz SM-POL setup.
Spoiled as I am I find it tiring looking through a monocular tube for prolonged time.
No need to be marked with P (strain free - polarization) for me.

I know there are bino-heads out there that fit the red-dot bayonet, I believe old Laborlux's could have them...

(The alternative is a complete bino-setup but probably cost-prohibitive).

Thanx for looking
Somehow only Leitz in the picture.

This is the current mono-tube, perhaps a pic clears it up.

A trino for the SM-Pol never existed.

There are bino's but they lack the Bertrand lens and feature a lesser field of view than the mono. Hard to find anyway.
