I recall someone wanting a 100 watt lamp holder for the American Optical Series 20. I have a spare - possible trade for something? These were used in the AO 100 watt lamp housings for the Microstar, Phasestar, and Polarstar scopes of this era.

Conversely, if someone has a spare lamp collector lens for the AO 20 - I'd be interested.

The spare part I have is the black tubular lamp holder with a 3 wire plug. The part I'm looking for is the collector lens immediately in front of this in the microscope base.

I'd be interested in the lamp socket. I don't have a spare collector lens , though. Possibly many other items. There was a slight modification on those between the time they arrived on the scene in 1967 and the time they were superceded by the 120. You have to have the right one. Does yours have the dark grey collar between the lamp house and the body?

Hi Phil, my collector lens (cracked) is inserted in a cast metal collar (painted gray in part) with "ears" to ride on approx. 1/4" rods. One ear is a slip fit, the other open to ride somewhat freely.

I may have to end up retrofitting some other light source?

I have an AO20 hulk that appears to have an intact collector lens. (I bought it for the lamp holder to use in my AO120.) Email me and I'll send detail pix, addy below in sig line.
