The History of the World

#1 Post by DonSchaeffer » Fri Sep 23, 2022 3:43 pm

It wasn't death,
not even especially close,
but it did remind me of
alternatives to here and now,
alternative worlds.

How strange looking we are.
Birth could have chosen alternatives
and covered those with the smooth skin.
Perhaps birth once did,
maybe far away or even here.

We did come out strange
and I see it more clearly now.
I look at the form I took and
wonder, smiling nearly to a laugh.
I live among end points of time.
