Vintage bulb

#1 Post by candylion » Fri Jul 10, 2015 2:36 am

I'm always fascinated about the vintage led bulb: they are simple and classic..if one day I have a chance to own a small shop, I will definitely choose vintage led bulbs as my decoration..

Thanks CL,

I too like the look of those bulbs. They are not too expensive either (for something that will last for years).

Interesting technology: lots of little LEDs in a strip, coated in a fluorescent compound so it glows as a strip rather than little dots.

Cheers
Steve

I looked into buying some led filaments from Ebay... It appears they use 50-60V forward voltage... I was surprised... Most led devices use much less voltage...

I am sure you are right... It is hard for me to make that out from the pics on Ebay... They just look like one solid piece..

Check out amazon.com. They list filament bulbs for 110v and are priced equal or better than eBay.

These bulbs sure look elegant! Thanks for that link. Anyone know if they function with an existing incandescent light fixtures dimmer switch? I'd love to place thes in our dining rooms over table light fixture...but these LED's would work with a traditional incandescent light dimmer switch? Classy and earth friendly lights. charlie guevara
