If you need a μ to write μm, and you'd rather not take the easy way and write um, then go to https://www.greekalphabetletters.com and copy/paste!

Windose comes with a character map widget that provides the same functionality

On my german keyboard I hold "AltGr" and press "M" and there it is :µ
