They used to call it innocence
but why bother? They press
gently, not wanting to offend the space
while the protector of space watches.
The breeze slips silently
over the arms. No one defies the order
laid down a century before and surviving
waves of knowledge and science.
And no one falls victim to cynicism.
They all need the dream too much,
and none wants it to die,
even as it fades.
