They used to call it innocence.
The dream is one of those gentle ones
that doesn't want to frighten its maker,
especially while the protector of dreams is watching.

The dream slips quietly along
with a faint, kind smile, bending then lifting her head.
She is a big dream, unafraid and gentle,
creating waves of knowledge and science.

And no one doubts her.
They all need the dream too much,
and none wants it to die,
even as it fades.
