they will never achieve their aims.
They reach upward
outward for something
beyond the curve of their hands,
hands that aspire to grace beyond their bodies.
We greet their aspirations with joy and hope.
They nearly do it.
It's all they can make their tenderness do.
Here we see their limits,
fragility, aspiration.
We hope with them. We cheer them.
We urge them on.
