as I watched the low life beasts.
Do they want before they seek?
Do we?

I know hunger and how it points.
Do I need the words,
beyond the gesture that
reaches to grasp the pain?

How do you create visions?
Do you need them?
Since when have
eyes been crowned?

What about the fellows
which dart and flick about the earth?
What do they imagine?
How do they tell stories?

When was kinship invented?
Did loneliness precede joy?
Who ended the void where
spirits were unembodied?
