From the QMC Facebook page:

"There are 92 Microscopy Club/Society meetings in the U.K. this year. Many of them are organised or part funded by the Quekett. Please consider attending one of the meetings close to where you live. If you would like further details of meetings please visit the Quekett website."

(Yes, I'm a QMC member even though I'm in Texas. I just renewed, find it worth every penny in dues.)

We have the Serendipitous Microscope Club, here in Canada. Meetings are roughly, every 1/3 century. While the meetings aren't as well attended here as they are for Queckett, with usually 2 attendees, a roster of 1, can always be counted on. Special events, will draw 3 at least. Occasionally, a lost hiker or canoeist, will happen along and just happens to be carrying along his iphone microscope attachment and the event can get quite exciting.

The Great Lakes Watershed Microscopy Club......should be one country, anyway. However, southwestern Ohio is in the Mississippi watershed, isn't it? just over the border?

Hmmm..never heard of that one although there are quite a few professionally oriented "societies" in and around the midwest.

Here is a list from Quekett:

http://www.quekett.org/resources/links/clubs#usa

I had looked into a few in the past. The ones I looked at were more a professional organization and not so much a "club" so to speak. I think of clubs as being less formal, driven more by enthusiasts and hobbyists, as opposed to professionals whose careers are in microscopy or a related field.

Believe me members these meeting are fantastic. You turn up, lay out ones presentation which can be anything of microscopic interest, have a cup of tea and chat with friends for the rest of the morning whilst looking at the presentations around the hall.
Maximum distance to travel for me (living in East Anglia) is 2/3 hours to any of the meetings.
These are informal get to gethers and worth the effort to attend.

Also we can buy a lot of microscopical accessories.

Why not a group of you guys come over here for a holiday and time it to attend a meeting or two? You could always borrow our microscopical instruments.
