Coincidentally parfocal.

#1 Post by DonSchaeffer » Mon Mar 15, 2021 12:48 pm

My current turret has 10, 20, 40, and 60x. I mostly switch between 10x and 60x. Lo and behold, i find those two objectives essentially parfocal. The others are out by several turns.

Hi,
Every objective has a means of adjusting lying underneath the sleeve, there will be a small locking nut that you can adjust to parfocality.
Another method is the use of shims to lower the objective in the turret.(they are available in 001" and upwards.
Its a matter of trial and error.

I have an infinity scope Amscope t420. I placed a 20x finite objective between 10 and 40x. It not only focussed but was parfocal. I went out and bought a lottery ticket. How did I get that lucky? You never know completely what to expect.
