Received my stereo microscope today.

Very impressed. I am starting out using flashlight sidelight because I need a powerline extension. I looked at a slide of cat and dog hair I had prepared. With the 30x objective the view is beautiful. I think there is work room to do some more careful dissections.

Nice to hear.

I tend to use the stereo a lot more than the compound. So many small items I tend to inspect and it's so much nicer than a hand loop. It's also nice to be able to explore things that aren't flat or forced to be flat. It's a wholly different view from the compound; they do the same thing conceptually, but the utility is vastly different, at least for me.

I agree that it's really fun to have such a nice clear natural view. The compound microscope takes me to a different world. The stereo microscope keeps me in this world. I am glad I bought it. I want to use it to better prepare specimens for the compound microscope. I put a cutting board on the stage so I can slice things.

I am running out of power connections. Fortunately the stereo microscope adapts perfectly to a flashlight. I really don't need the power.

Don,

My wife bought me a tower power strip from Amazon.
9 outlets and 5 volt USB ports. About 26 to 39 dollars.
Made a big difference.
