Buying 3rd Party Eyepieces for stereo scope

If I bought 20x eyepieces for my new Amscope stereo microscope from another dealer, would they fit?

I bought third party 20x/12 WF eyepieces for my Olympus stereo. They work, but I never use them. Very inconvenient. Vision seems unnatural. I believe that 10x WF are OK and 15x might be fine; 20x is too much. For higher magnifications, an 1.5x Barlow lens would be better. Just my opinion.

I now have the feeling you are right. Anyway, they cost about $50. I don't want them that much.

Most stereos have at most minor correctiona done in the eyepieces, so that part of compatibility is less important. You'd want to be sure your scope takes standard 30mm stereo eyepieces--any recent mid to high end one will (unless you get one following Meiji's in hoise 30.5mm standard) but these lower end stereos are working from much older designs and might need a 23mm eyepiece instead. From there the pickup point of the eyepieces can vary, and you mught loae parfocality between your two magnification settings.
Glad you're enjoying stereo microscopy so far! They really are wonderful tools.

My Amscope stereo microscope came with 20x eyepieces in addition to the 10x eyepieces, but I've never used them. 20x-40x is useful, but 80x on a stereo will have no depth of field. I would rather switch to the compound microscope at that point.

On the other hand, my 20x eyepieces for the compound scope get a lot of use. With 4x, 10x, or 20x objectives, the 20x eyepiece is not empty magnification. Only when you get to the 40x objective does the higher magnification eyepiece start to enter the empty magnification region. A 15x would be perfect there, but I find the 20x giving a comfortable view at 800x (though anything beyond 600x is not increasing resolution).

I rarely use anything above about 40x, there are times when higher with the stereo is useful; but with the loss of depth, working distance, and the difficulty of fine manipulation, I don't tend to often or for long.
One advantage the stereo has at these magnifications though is that the subject need not be flat or transparent.

I like my stereo scope. It also came with 10, 20 and 30x Eyepieces. I only use 10x. I can use the others in my compound scopes but there I don't go above 20x. The 30x Eyepieces are just sitting there. I believe in the objective doing the major part of the work instead of the Eyepieces.
