I wonder if anyone here can help me put a name on the monster-mincroscope that I just got my hands on. I call it a monster because it weighs upwards 20 kilos and looks like a ww2 tank.
It is a Leitz metallurgical microscope with incident light illumination (6V, 15W). It works quite very well. At 50x and 100X the build in illumination is a bit hazy, but that does not matter much as it works really well with external gooseneck leds on those magnifications. At 200x and 500x, the built in bulb gives a pleasant and clear light.
This was a bit of a spontanous buy with which I am kind of happy, as I often observe non-transparent objects. However, despite some rather serious searching, I have not been able to figure out a name of this model? Anyone have any ideas?
