A Little Upgrade

#1 Post by FatBassPlayer » Thu Apr 21, 2022 10:01 pm

On the left, the little Bresser Biolux NV which I bought a couple of months back to see if it would rekindle my interest.

It did. So I recently invested in the Motic BA210 on the right. I've added the polariser and analyser pair which are working beautifully. Got some custom darkfield stops on order which should arrive in the next week or so.

Safe to say that I have a lot to learn, but I'm absolutely hooked!

Always room for just one more.
A little stereo maybe.
Doesn't need to be new, maybe re-home a stray Watson triple turret in a proper wooden box that smells of the 1960's.

Uh oh, now you've done it, you put two microscopes together and now they will start reproducing. Next thing you know there will be 12...

Thank you all for your kind words!

I assume the objectives are RMS, but I have no plans to change or upgrade.... yet. Also, the Bresser came with a little USB eyepiece camera. I've managed to temporarily make that fit an eyepiece tube on the Motic and so far I'm fairly happy with the results (example below). If I decide to keep using it I'll obtain or make a permanent adapter.

My biggest worry is that when I die, my wife sells it for what I told her it cost!

Congratulations! I would love to upgrade to that scope... maybe some day.

The image quality difference should be impressive.
