This is a test of the use of filters on the microscope illumination to increase sharpness and depth of field. On this particular microscope with this particular lighting arrangement, reducing the brightness of the light can yield better images independent of the lens adjustment. This is a crude experiment to see if I can improve the resolution of my microscope.
