Hi!

I'm pretty new to the hobby of microscopy and just bought a Zeiss standard 25 off Ebay (not the ICS)

Unfortunately it came with B&L 30x eyepieces (much to my chagrin) so looking through it the artifacts are very noticeable.

Here are some spores taken on a cell phone with the 40x objective (1200x total)

while I'm still waiting on my 10x eyepieces Ebay.

I'm also looking for the manual for the scope since I can only find the 25 ICS manual.

Congratulations. I belive you will soon produce a lot better images even with a smartphone.
Did you record these through the eyepieces? is there an eyepiece in the photo tube?
In the case that you stay with the smartphone for a while, I was able to take decent photos with the aid of a modified adapter and 10x/18 eyepieces on a binocular. Find it in the Camera section of this forum. Should be a lot easier on the phototube...
By the way, I switch between Zeiss 10x/18 and Olympus 10x/18 eyepieces - no big difference in my inexperienced eyes...

Yep taken with my cell phone hovering over the eyepiece. Unfortunately there's no eyepiece in the phototube, I was looking to put a c-mount adapter and attach a dedicated camera onto it. There's a place not to far that sells old scope parts though they tend to be pricey. (though if the c-mount adapter for the ics is the same for the 160mm $125 isn't bad).
