What is the use of this kind of adapter? Can you attach a camera to it? Does the bino head come on top of it?
Thanks

That’s part of a Zeiss microscope setup. I used one of those in my doctoral work on minnow chromosomes.
The setup I had was a heavy metal stand that insulated the camera from shock.

It fits a Zeiss Camera body

You can direct all the light to the eyepiece, the camera or a portion to both

So this goes between the head and the body? I actually have a bino head and was thinking maybe it's possible to attach a camera to the tube where the eyepiece is on this extension. The eyepiece here seems pretty redundant now as we have screens on digital cameras, or is it?
Also I'm not sure if it would be parfocal with the eyepieces on the bino...
I can't seem to find any info or pictures on the internet as I don't know the precise name of this thing...

It is for a trinocular scope and connects to vertical tube

I think it dates from the 1960s

How do you call this kind of attachment I'd like to find what results do you get with this. Maybe someone has some pics?

Thanks

Cherish it. Those things get more rare every day.

:D I don't own it, it's an image from the Internet. I'm wondering what effect it has on the image, I can't find what this type of illumination is called...

Imkap, I use the same selector head shown in your image, but configured differently. In my case I use it on my Standard WL to easily switch between eyepiece, camera or drawing by rotating the drum or pulling the slider. This versatility is great to have in the home lab and also at public outreach events (pre Covid of course). And all the components are CZ Black! Hope this helps.

Hah, this is great, that's what I wanted to do but wasn't sure if it was possible, so attaching this along with a tube, could make my scope trinocular... And if I ever get a trinocular head I could still use it for it's primary purpose, which I don't know yet but I suppose it should be useful :D

EDIT: Although, yours does look a bit bigger than the one on the image... maybe it's not the same

I found this on ebay, doesn't have a light bulb inside but a vacuum tube. Not 100% sure, but I think it is used as a photocell sensor, a light meter. Obsolete nowdays with digital cameras... The tube is FZ 9011 V.

Yes, Telefunken... this might be an ancient photocell or photomultiplier, obsolete indeed.
