keep the specimens alive

I have samples of pond water. If there a way to keep the specimens alive longer. (Food, sunlight, etc.) Thanks

Put them in an aquarium or a large jar along with water from where they came from. You can keep refreshing the biome with leaves or grass and water from a dehumidifier or from rain.
