I’m looking for an inexpensive way to calibrate my Swift 380T. Any recommendations?

Gonna want to look around for some sweetgum trees, the.ones that shed those prickly balls. It might be to late this season, but next spring cut a bit of bark off in the morning and see if can't get some sap. You want to boil this in three changes of water then leave it exposed to the sun the entire rest of the spring and summer. The resulting crust should dissolve in xylene. Meanwhile you want to soak some.rock.scrapings in lye. You're looking for pleurosigma. Im sure you've pulled some.glaas picks in your time. I heard that those static guns for vinyl records work wonders, but I never tried it. Anyway, the adhesive.you can put on the coverslip, the styrax on the slide.

Or I guess you could buy one of those cheap micrometer slides

May I ask what does calibrating a microscope mean?

You can find instructions for using it to create a scale bar with, say, ImageJ online e.g. https://imagej.net/imaging/annotating-images

SPI makes a series of reticles for their handheld comparators that can be put on your stage and are somewhat less expensive than a slide specifically made for a microscope. See the pdf file.

Good question!
I wondered what OP meant as well, since instructions for stage micrometer slides are widespread on the web.
Perhaps it means calibrating the Z-axis, ie, up-down - focus travel, - depth measurement,
like how thick is that diatom
Not so easily done in that direction.

I was able to calibrate the scope. I would like to know how to place a measurement scale on my photos. Example ( I_________I = 1 mm ). My microscope is calibrated with all of the objectives. Is there a way to do this or is there software available? Thanks.
