40x doesn't show a clear image.

Do you have any microscopy questions, which you are afraid to ask? This is your place.

Yes there is a condenser and I've already tried adjusting it.

This whatci do when I use my microscope

-take the dust cover off
-turn on the microscope light
-carefully put in a slide and make sure it is latched in
-line up the sample

That's pretty much it...
Well you might try the focus knobs I guess

I guess we don't know whether his objective can actually contact the slide. Maybe there is a focus stop getting in the way?

Anyone's guess. If he/she had answered my question about a high contrast moving object or Louise about tissue we might be a bit wiser by now ? I think original (C) wacky baccy was right !

I think they probably would benefit from some hands on help. Failing that, there are plenty of helpful videos on Youtube, including the Microbehunter series :)

There is no strings or anything blocking the objective. And I can read these posts. I'm trying to give you all the info you need!

I am reading your posts, and I am trying what you people are saying. It is not working.

I am reading your posts, and I am trying what you people are saying. It is not working.

Your list, what you do, lacks so many points that I don't wonder it does not work.

How do you adjust the condenser for every individual objective?
Does the condenser have some flip-in top-lens or a swing-out lens at the bottom?
Does your microscope have a field iris diaphragm?
Did you try to focus on a very high contrast specimen like a stage micro-meter?
What is the approximate distance between the front lens of the 40x objective and the cover slide after you changed to the 40x and at the most down position?
What brand and model is your scope? would you mind to show a picture of it?

The information you provided is far less than even the most helpful person would need to identify and solve the problem. That why your problem is still not solved.
