Anyone use a different photo software ?
Anyone use a different photo software ?
Hello all,
I have a new OMAX 5MP USB 3.0 camera and the Toupview software seems "glitchy" as my students used to say. Sometimes when I log on I get a black screen, sometimes a white screen, and no image. The only remedy was reinstall of the program, losing the calibration for the objectives.
Has anyone had success using a different software program for a camera that came with Toupview? I tried Swift Imaging software and it doesn't recognize the camera. I had a lower MP camera with a scope I returned and had the similar issue with the Toupview then also.

I used OBS studio with my webcam, it should work with any USB camera. It is free, so easy to install (and remove).

You just loose calibration forever. OSB does not have any measurement feature.

Are you referring to measuring the size of the organism? Create your own scale bar for each objective you use (using a micrometer slide), add them as overlays in OBS, and you'll never need to be locked into any one software.

Thanks for your info. I'm looking into that. I like the features of Toupview, if it would just keep working properly.

I have Exploview. I use it for free. I found it works fine. I also use Hayear but the motion feature is not available for free. I just use it for stills.
