It is weirdly difficult, though given how niche it is it's understandable. Having a 3d printer alleviates most of these issues.

Well, Here is my latest image. It was shot using my Canon 7D held over the front photo port on my microscope. The focus and clarity has definitely improved. Thanks to everyone for their assistance. I still have a few minor wrinkles to iron out but at least I know what to do.

This is an image of Orange G stain crystals under polarized light. Unfortunately I had to compress the file so much I got lots of pixelation artifacts.
