My led lighting is very blue. My halogen lighting is very yellow. Can anything be done to make these more white?.

Re: Colored lighting.
The trusty blue filter is good for tungsten and halogen lamps-they come in different shades-tungsten is more yellow to my eye than halogen-the blue led (which I find more unpleasant than yellow light) would need a light red filter of some sort-below is a good page on the Olympus website about correcting colour balance mainly for photography but is still useful info-if the problem is for photography I usually adjust white balance in camera rather than rely on filters-those blue-green heat absorbing filters are good cos they take out that pinkish hue from infrared radiation from bulb-seems to be gentler on the eyes.Apparently some people are more sensitive to IR-if I look at a white page in sunlight it looks pinkish to me so I think my eyes pick up more IR than others.Colour correction just for ones eyes is far more subjective than for cameras.

Some microscopes have a phosphorescent coating on a curved piece of glass between the light source and the substage optics. Could maybe try a different coating if you have a microscope like this. Has anyone done that?
