Here you can discuss different microscopic techniques and illumination methods, such as Brightfield, Darkfield, Phase Contrast, DIC, Oblique illumination, etc.

Nikon 33mm Filter adapter

#1 Post by MikeBradley » Tue Apr 20, 2021 4:59 pm

Can anyone tell me whether the MXA20495 33mm filter holders are still available anywhere? These are key elements in Cark Hunsingers' design of a darkfield adapter for the Nikon Labophot condensers. I only need one to complete my set but all the sites I've looked at state "No longer available". I could try shimming with electrical tape but I suspect that centering would then be tricky. Are there other ideas for securing the tube in the condenser?
Thanks
Michael

I'm using the same Nikon Labophot Abbe 1.25 Condenser that was illustrated in the original article.

I do have your kit for darkfield/oblique and that works very well, but I also need a standalone 20x insert for another application, hence my request!
Thanks

I can send you just Nikon insert, so you can use all other stuff from your Olympus kit
