New microscope stepper unit

#1 Post by johan » Thu Aug 24, 2017 1:03 pm

Just wanted to make people aware of a new wemacro unit that provides a focus stepping "bridge" between your stepper and microscope. It attaches to your fine focus knob and uses a wemacro stepper to automate your microscopy focus stepping. See http://extreme-macro.co.uk/extremist/ne ... -accessory

Has anybody actually used this equipment ... I notice it states each step represents 1 micron. I thought that the depth of field for, say a X 100 objective is around 0.5 micron?

Thanks for bringing this to our attention.
Very interesting.
I do all my photography via a canon 1200D an liveview. This is important for the vibrationless shooting.
Do you (Johan or anyone else) know if you can use the cable to control the camera via live view type set-up? i.e. will one lose vibrationless shooting?
