Interesting video clip. I have no idea what the remnants of a cyst are expected to look like - and not much is visible in that view. But it sure does look like your ciliate manages to escape Houdini-like from some sort of containment.

The remnants of a cyst are hard to see clearly with an optical microscope.
I think both species of ciliates are the same, but I'm not 100% sure
