Total Newbie

#1 Post by Peter-J » Wed Feb 16, 2022 10:43 pm

Hello everyone,

I have just purchased a Brunel SP40. Really looking forward to exploring this hobby. I have subscribed to Micro Hunter. It would be nice if he included what magnification he was at throughout the videos as it would help new people like me. My optimum is x600 unless I get different viewing optics.

Welcome Peter,

A lot of interesting pond life can be seen at 100x
200x is really but most scopes have objectives that are 10x 40x and 100x oil.

Hello Peter-J,

It is nice when people remark about the magnification used. Most of what I do is 450x and less, but I do occasionally go higher and pull out the 15x eyepieces or swing in the oil objectives, depends on what I'm looking at that particular day.
What are you hoping to look at?

For info.

Despite the name of the link, it incudes the SP40

Welcome, Peter. I read through your posts in the other topic areas. You seem to be coming along quite well.
Congratulations.
