Hi everyone
I am newly interested in microscopy, after reading Nick Lane's books and becoming intrigued by biochemistry. And yet somehow microscopy didn't occur to me as a possibility until someone suggested I watch Journey to the Microcosmos on YouTube. Now I've just bought a SWIFT SW380B which arrived today, and I've managed to look at some samples from puddles (lucky it poured with rain today).
Does anyone have any advice on good resources for recognising the different microbes you come across? It would be great if I could learn to make sense of what I'm seeing. Today I have seen some tiny things that look like little round avocados, and some much bigger maggot-ish things.
