Hi and nice to meet you all!
I'm a budding biologist (mycologist, microbiologist, genomicist, taxonomist) in the Netherlands. I've just finished my MSc. and I'm about to start a PhD project on mushroom biodiversity, taxonomy, and genomics.
I've had a very basic Brunel microscope I got when I was 12 and it was used until I turned 19. Later, I got a generic Chinese mass-produced scope, but was not really satisfied, nonetheless it was somewhat of an improvement. During an internship I was awed by a Leica DMLB fluorescence microscope I was allowed to use. The last few months I've fallen in love with 40s-90s Zeiss and Leitz-Wetzlar microscopes, and I've finally bought a great Zeiss Standard RA, which I now consider my first "proper" microscope. I've been frequenting this forum during my searches, which has helped a ton, so I think it's appropriate to say hi and thanks you for all your knowledge and expertise here!

Welcome ! a fascinating research area, let it be successful and enjoyable.
Your Standard microscope, with all the accessories mentioned on the other post, sounds great, too.
