Hi

I'm interested in all aspects of microscopy but particularly digital photomicrography.

The last ten years have seen an incredible advances in the ability to take highly
detailed photomicrographs - digital cameras and dedicated usb cmos cameras with
high resolution capabilities, now at a reasonable cost, have meant that even hobbyists
like myself can take decent photographs.

Not that long ago the means to take good images through a microscope was way beyond
the means of most 'ordinary' people and using film cameras was a very hit and miss affair indeed.
LED lighting has come a long way and is now powerful, flicker free and cost effective - although
halogen lighting etc. are still very capable. All this, along with sophisticated software and
a plentiful supply of affordable new and used microscopes means things have never been better for
people like me!
