Hello from Amsterdam!

I am not entirely new to microscopy. When I was twelve I did not get the telescope that I really wanted for Christmas, but a toy microscope. I was soon finished with that, so my parents bought me the entry level LOMO MBU-4 which was upgradable. I learned a lot from Sterrenburg’s introductory book in Dutch “Leidraad bij de microscopie” (The “microscopy primer” published on http://www.microscopy-uk.org.uk/index.h ... compon.htm is based on this magnificent guide.) A few years later I lost interest in microscopy. But now that I am over fifty I took up this great hobby again. I am faithful to the LOMO brand and bought a second hand Biolam which is also upgradable. There are a lot of very interesting threads on this forum and I hope I can contribute soon. My interests are at the moment everything that is swimming in pond water and diatoms.
