Hi everyone - John from Kansas City. I'm a former physics student turned Linux pro; getting back into science. I'm mainly interested in reflected-light stuff, but there are some neat transmitted-light things I'd like to study, such as Brownian motion. Would also like to use the microscope as a measurement tool for micron-scale objects. Coffee grounds under a microscope, anyone?

Hi John. I am new here too, but know very little about microscopy, so I am currently doing a lot of Google searching and reading.
