Hi everybody,
I've just gifted myself a microscope and I am looking forward to learn from the community.
I am a homebrewer interested in isolating and separating yest, but have no experience in microbiology and/or microscopes.
I used the kit for the first time yesterday and I was quite blown away having been able to see yeast and some other small things I don't yet know what they are . In fact, a few tiny things (~1-2um) appear to be swimming, whereas I no other than yeast should be alive in the sample i pulled!
I used the 100x objective wihtout adding oil, and it was not bad at all. I look forward to trying again with oil and trying the phase contrast kit.
Anyway, I will probably start asking a few questions soon.
Thanks!

Welcome indeed.
Having helped out some local commercial breweries in recent years, I am intrigued as to how this will turn out. Will you be wanting to do counts?
