As someone who works with UV a lot, a word of advice though. If you are going to use it, please wear UV safety goggles. I'm not sure what wavelengths that light source will emit, but the fact that it is called a short wave microscope makes me thunk UV and UV can be very damaging to the eyes and skin.

And to third the look after your retinas.
You won't feel it is doing the damage. Very few watts needed if the system is working.

I know they used to do fluorescence with darkfield condensers before epi was the standard (or maybe alongside?) I assume there's a reason nobody does it that way anymore, presumably all the obvious ones.
