Fitting graticule to Zeiss KPL eyepiece

#1 Post by Timor » Fri Sep 25, 2020 12:59 pm

Hi,
I have a pair of these eyepieces (Zeiss KPL 10x/20) and I wanted to fit a graticule to one of them.
I thought the middle section (with the writing) would simply unscrew from the lower part (23mm tube) but I can't get it to budge.
There are 3 grubscrews on the knurled focusing ring at the top, I wonder if I need to start there?
If anyone has experience of dismantling these, please let me know.
Thanks,
Tim

Your eyepiece is incomplete, it is missing the black ring that screws into the bottom which is where the graticule goes.

See table for the size you need.

Thanks, 75RR
I see. I have a graticule that fits in the tube, so I'll find some way to support it under the diaghragm and see if it focuses ok.
Cheers,Tim
