Anyone know about this weird Leitz condenser?

#1 Post by Rossf » Fri Apr 30, 2021 2:53 am

Never seen this type before-has 70’s era dovetail and similar to 600 series but has an objective as part of the condenser-I have seen the objective on its own occasionally on eBay but not the unit-anyone have ideas?

That condenser is new to me.

However, the idea of using an objective as a condensing lens has been around for a while - it's one way to make sure a specimen is illuminated with condenser whose numerical aperture matches the objective - and thus achieves the full resolution it might be capable of producing.
