I wanted to check if there are persons who use or have used a Motic BA 410 (or BA400) and can share their experience.

If I go for a new Chinese scope I go for this one (but I am still not trying to divorce from my old Zeiss .)
Anyone works with a Motic BA 400 / BA410 series.

Used to have one. It's roughly comparable to an Olympus BX40 or a Nikon E400, but with a slightly lower build quality. Mine had Motic Plan Fluorite objectives, which were good, but again not quite as good as their Olympus (UPlan Fl) and Nikon (Plan Fluor) equivalents. The trinocular head was limited to about 22mm FN. Good news was new price to new price, it was significantly less expensive.
It's a fine microscope. If you ever want to add DIC, you might have to look a bit higher.

Thank you so much for your reply - that was very useful indeed. It sounds to be a good allrounder and decent optics but lacking the higher end frills, as one would expect. That was helpful Pete. !PeteM wrote: ↑Mon Sep 06, 2021 5:22 amUsed to have one. It's roughly comparable to an Olympus BX40 or a Nikon E400, but with a slightly lower build quality. It should also accept Olympus uis/uis2 objectives, so if you want to slowly upgrade by finding deals on used stuff over time you could take that approach.
