Trinocular head bought - what else I need for my dSLR Canon 750d
Dear friends,
Finally, I found a Zeiss trinocular head part number 452909 [01] for my Axiolab re microscope and I want to attach my Canon 750d camera.
While it is on its way, what else do I need to buy please, possibly from eBay or amazon? I have the Amscope x2 adapter and I can use its T2 adaptor, but do I need a tube too ? Your help is appreciated

I have used something like this on an old Canon

Re: Trinocular head bought - what else I need for my dSLR Canon 750d
Because it is ‘manufactured’ by Zeiss
It’s a T2 extension tube with a 1.6x lens inside
Zeiss has a reputation for making good lenses
… and don’t forget you will need the two adapters

The T2-T2 and the T2-60 right ? as in the image above from Zeiss website. - so another 500 Eur plus 150Eur sigh!… and don’t forget you will need the two adapters

I have that already... do I need something else (T2-60 adapter) or it just fits in the trinocular (of the AxioLab RE)DrPhoxinus wrote: ↑Thu Sep 16, 2021 9:09 pmI have used something like this on an old Canon

Re: Trinocular head bought - what else I need for my dSLR Canon 750d
So, a while back a friend wanted to put an aps-c dslr on her stemi and I got an adapter together for her, but them it turned out it had an adapter already epoxied in place (??). So point is I have this martin microscope dslr adapter with a custom 3d printed mount which I think is the same as for the axiolab, a 30mm diameter dovetail. If you'd like to give it a try just drop me a PM, I don't have an axiolab to test it on but it should drop in and has t2 threads at the top so you'd need to get a t2 to eos adapter.
Basically I got a Martin microscope mdslr adapter designed for a Motic microscope, but they seem to all have the same lens assembly on top with different mechanical adapters threaded on. Using known dimensions and the picture here I designed and 3d printed a copy of the Zeiss dovetail and pri ted it https://www.martinmicroscope.com/product/mdslr-zs/

If anyone here is fortunate-enough to own [or have access to] one of these … Could you please share some details, for the benefit of the amateur community.

Whixh details would you like? I don't have an official Zeiss one, but these are basically teleconverters optically speaking.

I had assumed these would do nicely:Scarodactyl wrote: ↑Fri Sep 17, 2021 2:16 pmWhixh details would you like? I don't have an official Zeiss one, but these are basically teleconverters optically speaking.
- Effective length of the T2 tube
- Effective length of the Adapter 60-T2
- Position of the lens in the tube
- Optical formula of the lens

Before you start spending silly money (only institutions are allowed to do that) you should have a look at Charles Krebs' articles on the subject.
Here is one to start you off: https://www.krebsmicro.com/pdf/trinoc_a3.pdf

Do look at his images as well, they are a treat!

If you mean effective lengths for calculating flange focal distance, these should be standard. I use 60N-T2 directly, so with a T2 adapter attached to camera (different adapters for different mounts). It can also be used with T2-T2 adapter, at the end of the adapter there is again a T2 adapter for camera needed, it does not change the required distance after the adapter.
There might be one lens in the T2-T2 adapters mentioned but there can also be more than one optical elements.

That’s why I left the T2 camera adapter off my list … It’s the only defined value so far.

This [which obviously pre-dates both the 1.6x DSLR tube and ‘Interface 60’] may be useful for general reference:
