Leitz SM-Pol compensators question

#1 Post by Rossf » Sun Oct 10, 2021 10:15 am

Hello peeps-below is my new cute little Pol scope-same size as the SM-Mesical scope-came with objectives, condenser, and light source but no compensators (first red,1/4 wave etc) which fit into a slot in the back of the nose as indicated by the red arrow in the photo-I’ve seen some sellers on eBay with Lomo compensators and indicate they will fit older Leitz Pol scopes (dimensions 16x4mm)-they certainly look vary similar to the Leitz compensators-has anyone used the Lomo ones on a Leitz scope successfully? Curious also-the rotating stage has no rotation lock-which makes the little slide clip tricky to use-has anyone heard of a way to lock the rotation or transplant a lock block such as on the more complicated Pol scopes?
Regards ross
